About the Santa Barbara STC
The Santa Barbara STC chapter is well-known for being a friendly chapter. Our meetings are always open to visitors, and there is no charge for meetings (except occasional dinner meetings).
Founded in 1988, our chapter has won STC's "Chapter Achievement Award" for best chapter in its size class three times, STC's Pacesetter award in 1997, and our newsletter has won awards in STC's Chapter Newsletter Competition three times, including a "Best of Show" award. See the chapter history for details.

What is technical communication?
Technical communicators provide ways to transfer technical information from those who create technical products to those who use technical products. For example, technical communicators can be writers, illustrators, editors, and multimedia designers. They may create printed documents, online help, Web pages, videos, and more.
